A year ago, the Trail Blazers entered lottery day with the fifth-best odds. Their pick moved up to No. 3 overall, and they ultimately selected Scoot Henderson.

Now, they’re hoping Henderson can pay forward some of that luck as their onstage representative at this year’s lottery on Sunday in Chicago.

The Blazers finished tied with Charlotte for the third-worst record in the NBA at 21-61. Rather than going for another alum, the Blazers are trying one of the faces of their rebuild a year after they had some good lottery luck to land Henderson.

The lottery will take place in Sunday and air on ABC at noon Pacific time, ahead of Game 4 of the Knicks-Pacers series. I will be in Chicago to cover it, as well as the predraft combine the following week.
